8 DAY FALL FOLIAGE CHURCH HISTORY ITINERARY

October 12-19, 2024

Day 1

Fly Into Syracuse, NY

Stay the night in New York City Fly into Syracuse and get ready for the trip of a lifetime! Arrive before 6pm if possible and join us at a 7 pm banquet dinner and orientation at our hotel. Get some rest that night and prepare for the upcoming adventure.

Day 2

Priesthood Restoration Day

Sunday morning we will attend church at the Peter Whitmer Farm. Feet away from the location where the church was organized. After Sacrament Meeting we will enjoy a delicious lunch amidst nature at the park at Taughannock Falls in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Then we will head to the Priesthood Restoration Site in what used to be known as Harmony Pennsylvania. We will also take a short walk down to the Susquehanna River. That evening we will have an amazing catered dinner at the quaint Red Rock Barn. We will head back to Syracuse and stay the night.

Day 3

Palmyra

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then hop on the bus as we head to Palmyra to visit the Smith Family Farm and the Sacred Grove. We will also head downtown for a tour of the Book of Mormon Publication Site (Grandin Press). Followed by lunch provided by Nima’s. End the day on a spiritual high with a testimony meeting on the bus en route to Niagara, NY where we have a special treat for everyone as we stop by Niagara Falls at night

Day 4

Niagara Falls & Kirtland 

Experience the majestic Niagara Falls on The Maid of The Mist and enjoy some free time for site seeing and shopping. We will have lunch at Evangola State Park before visiting the John Johnson Farm near Kirtland, OH that evening.

Day 5

Kirtland

In the mourning explore Historic Kirtland on guided missionary tours. Then we will go up the hill for a tour of the Kirtland Temple. We will provide lunch before stopping by The Morely Farm and then heading to Shipshewana, IN (Amish Country) to have dinner at the gorgeous Blue Garden Inn.

Day 6

Nauvoo

Start your day with a visit to Rentown Country Store in Breman for an Amish experience unlike any other before our longest drive of the trip as we head down toward Nauvoo. Don’t worry, we always stop at least every 2 hours to grab snacks, use restrooms, and stretch our legs. If you are up for it, you will have the option for a short visit to Nauvoo that evening and walk the Trail of Hope and watch the sunset on the Mississippi River. Or you can relax and have fun that evening at the Fun City Resort in Burlington, Iowa.

Day 7

Nauvoo

Enjoy breakfast at our hotel before leaving for a day full of exciting activities on the list full day of our tour in beautiful Nauvoo. You will have the opportunity to explore Historic Nauvoo and attend guided tours. Buses will shuttle people around as needed. You’ll get to visit the Nauvoo Temple and also stop by the Nauvoo Mercantile and other shops for some souvenirs. Afterward, we’ll head to Carthage and stand in the upper room. we’ll jump on the bus that evening to go to dinner on the Sunset Mark Twain dinner cruise on the Mississippi River. We’ll also have a movie and testimony meeting on the bus on the way to our hotel, making for a perfect end to your adventure.

Day 8

Liberty Jail

We will wake up for our last tour of the trip at the powerful Liberty Jail before heading to the airport by noon.

Fall Foliage Family Tour 2023 -Traveling to NauvooI have always wanted to see the Church sites but didn't know how to go about it. The moment this tour opened, I signed up. What better way to see some of the most amazing historical sites?! No need to decide where do go first, or where to stay. Travel and accommodations have all been planned, you just go along for the adventure.From day one you will feel like you just gained new family! And who knows maybe those sitting near you is a cousin you never knew!From guided tours, beautiful scenery, laughter, tears (lots of them), overwhelming spiritual experiences, words of wisdom and direction from people who live and love this Gospel, it's something to will never forget.This is a tour for the young to seasoned in years... those that are agile and spry, from a little fluffy or slower in step!The team is attentive and loving from beginning to end (and beyond). I went on a Fall Foliage Church History Tour with Hi-5 Live Tours. I can honestly say this was one of the best tours I have ever taken! I had so much fun and made many new friends. I also had unbelievable experiences. I wanted to take this church history tour because I have been inactive for many years and I wanted to see the church history sites again. I love this tour group!The tour guides are fun and playful and it made learning about church history enjoyable. They offered genuine interest to get to know each of us and our stories. They give devotionals each day and we were spiritually fed. The group on our bus tour has become quite the family because of the way they've intentionally created these experiences. I enjoyed doing the whole church history. We did the whole shabang! We started in NY and end in MO. a lot of traveling, yet the bus time is just as enjoyable as the site seeing and a good break to take in each of the locations, and digest all the history.I brought along our 12 year old and 19 year old, they both had a great time. They will remember this trip for years to come.My only feedback is I wish I had a little more time in Nauvoo. 4 hours went by so quick!

We joined the 2023 Fall Foliage Tour at the last second. My wife and I are both 75 years old and we were a little concerned about the walking that might be involved. We should not have worried because we were given the time to see the things we wanted to see. We are taking home great spiritual memories and many new friendships.

Wow we loved this Fall Church History tour! The bus was so nice, the hotel rooms really great, but best of all was our tour guides. They were so much fun and really truly made the trip better than I thought possible. It was a great balance - good planning, great company, knowledge and fun personalities. Also impressed with other participants - we felt like a family by the end of the week and so enjoyed each other’s company. Really fun activities for example a home cooked Amish meal in Indiana. Nauvoo temple was majestic! So beautiful! I loved the stained glass windows up top. So much history on this tour. I had no idea about most of it and I’ve been a member my entire life. Every member of the church should do this tour to really understand what happened and why. So enlightening! My testimony of Joseph Smith has grown into admiration and honor for him and all those that sacrificed to help forward the Restoration of the Gospel.

I went on the high five live senior trip and it was 10/10!! You learn so much and meet amazing people. You also to feel the Spirit and come closer to Jesus Christ. You make friendships that will last forever. It was so much fun! We got to go on roller coasters and tour New York City.
