DAY 1

Thursday: Arrive in Honolulu, leis, snacks and lunch, with an afternoon at famous Waimea Bay, and then kick off the trip with a group devotional after dinner in Laie.

 

DAY 2

Dive into Hawaiian culture by experiencing the Hukilau, Polynesian Cultural Center villages and luau and finish the day with the Ha: Breath of Life night show.

 

DAY 3

Serve at a taro farm, visit Temple Hill and cemetery, relax, paddle board, swim, or snorkel at Kawela Bay, and enjoy local traditions like ukulele, weaving, and hula.

 

DAY 4

Attend a church service, visit historic sites, and reflect at Laie Temple grounds and visitor’s center.

 

DAY 5

Snorkel at Shark’s Cove, shop in Haleiwa, and visit Waimea Falls and Sunset Beach.

 

DAY 6

Relax, take professional family photos, tour Gunstock Ranch (Book of Mormon video sites), and enjoy a final dinner with hula and testimonies.

 

DAY 7

Morning time at the beach or BYU-Hawaii before departing with unforgettable memories.

Refund Policy:

  • Within 48 hours of booking: Everything is fully refundable.
  • After 48 hours of booking: The deposit becomes non-refundable.
  • 90 + days before the trip: Full refund for all payments except the deposit.
  • 60-90 days before the trip: Half refund for all payments except the deposit.
  • Within 60 days before the trip: All payments become non-refundable.
  • Transferable Anytime: You can receive a full refund, except for the deposit, if you find someone to take your place.

Physical Activity Considerations:
● What are the physical and mobility guidelines for the tour?

○ Able to walk up to 1 mile per day
○ Capable of ascending and descending large charter bus stairs
○ Be aware of uneven terrain throughout tour sites
○ Wheel chairs need to be manual and foldable to fit below bus

 

Airport/Transportation:

● Airport transportation to & from airport, to & from hotel?

○ Youth Tours: Hi 5 Live will be there to transport you to the hotel and bring youback to the airport at the close. Hi 5 Leaders will meet youth at baggage claim.(Youth will be taken to the airport at the close and dropped off in their terminal. They will need to check in, navigate through security and find their gate. If additional assistance is needed please inform us).

○ Adults: For some tours there will be a provided shuttle. Other transportation will
be your responsibility. This info varies per tour and therefore will be
communicated via your tour’s Groupme, following booking.

● Who schedules our flights?
Guests are responsible for scheduling their own flights. However, for a fee, we do
provide assistance with flights. Please contact Vanessa at (801) 885-8990 or vanessahi5live@gmail.com.

● How soon should we book our flights?
We typically recommend 6 weeks out if possible.

● Arrival & Departure Times?
This varies per tour. Check the first and last day of your itinerary on the website.
(It’s okay to arrive early, on day of tour, waiting times may vary according to hotel
room accessibility).

 

Arrival & Departure, Outside of Tour Dates:

● What’s the process for arriving before, or staying outside tour dates?
○ We can help connect you with our contact person at the tour hotel for you to make your own arrangements for up to 2 extra pre-tour & post-tour nights at a discounted price.

Laundry:
● Will we stop at a Laundry Mat along the way?
○ All Hotels have limited facilities. A laundromat stop is planned mid-tour for some
10-day tours.
○ Please Note: If your tour does not have a stop it is because the timing of making
it to appointments at church sites did not allow for this stop. We would suggest
planning on using hotel facilities as an emergency option, and bringing enough to
last.

Luggage:
● How many suitcases can we bring?
○ 1 large suitcase, per person (that will go under bus)
○ 1 backpack or small carry-on for bus, per person (overhead bins on bus are
smaller than plane bins)

Make sure to check the weather as your trip approaches to adjust what clothing you may need to bring.

We didn't just visit historical sites of the restoration, we experienced them. This tour did everything to make our travel convenient and spiritual. Tour Directors

Dave and Kahanu are thrilled to join the Hi 5 Live Ohana! They met at BYU-Hawaii, where Dave’s persuasive speech in a communications class led to their first date and eventual marriage in the Laie temple. Their family has now grown to include four children, two daughters-in-law and three amazing grandchildren. They now live in Hawaii.

Dave, a passionate seminary and institute teacher, loves connecting gospel principles to everyday life and enjoys outdoor activities and ocean sports. Kahanu loves searching family history, watching college football, organizing things and being a grandma. Their family loves hula, ukuleles, local music, musubi, manapua and spam and rice.

Kahanu’s ancestors were early Church pioneers in Hawaii and had sacred experiences with Joseph F. Smith, George Q. Canon and others and were instrumental in the establishment of faith and gathering in Laie. This heritage still blesses them today.

Visiting the places where so much of early Church history unfolded made the stories come alive in a way I never expected. Oh my gosh, this literally was most amazing experience.
